You have no option but to bow to the pressure of the required DPF regeneration. Damaged Turbocharger; This is more of a consequence than a symptom. When you delay the DPF regeneration, the pressure build-up also puts the turbocharger at risk. When a clogged DPF hinders or slows the flow of exhaust gases, it causes the temperature to rise.

If your DPF is clogged and it keeps clogging, and if you’re doing enough low-load highway driving to support active regeneration, and you’re back at the dealership a dozen times for a manual regeneration in a service bay, the blockage is a symptom of a problem elsewhere. Guaranteed. And treating the symptom never cures the problem. The temperature is around 600 degree, giving it a good blast whilst regenerating or pottering around has no part of regeneration temps, infact flooring it whilst regenerating seems to drop the temps.this is the opposite of driving whilst not regenerating where wot put temps up around 350 degrees.

However, when the regeneration is occurring I find that the noise of the exhaust changes - becomes deeper sounding - and there is a small loss of power (manifests as slight hesitation). Besides EGT, if you can read the particle filter load (i.e. pressure differential across the filter), that might give you an indication.
the DPF catches the soot in little chambers when the exhaust flows through it.. these DPF cleaners like the one mentioned flow in the same direction as the exhaust. how much does it really clean out? i have heard of people removing the DPF and flushing it out with a pressure washer (no soap) in the reverse direction and having good luck.
