I got mine back and have only done some initial tests but it does not appear like the issue has been fixed at all, going to have to micro adjust my lenses again. Pretty dissapointing.Shooting-Related Problems. No images can be shot nor recorded. The card is not properly inserted; If the card is full, replace the card or delete unnecessary images to make room; If you try to focus in One-Shot AF mode while the focus confirmation light < > in the viewfinder blinks, a picture cannot be taken. Most instruction manuals and 'how-to' books recommend using a dummy target the same distance as you plan to stand from the camera. You can either use AF (autofocus) to focus on it and then set the lens' switch to MF (manual focus) or set focus mode to MF and use the dummy target to manually focus on the spot you intend to stand.
A bit of background, I purchased a 5D Mark III brand new in November of 2016 from B&H. I have been shooting on it for 2 years with no AF issues whatsoever. I brought the camera with me to Banff on a trip and it was accidentally dropped by my friend. I sent the camera to Canon and they cleaned and recalibrated the camera and lens ($500).Used a 5Dmk111 and a Canon EF 24-70 F2.8 mk11. A lot of my shots were at 24-30mm @ f2.8 or f3.2 and a large proportion of these were out of focus. The chosen focus point was in centre but the focus in the shots was at extreme left or right! I used the same camera body with a 70-200 F2.8 L without trouble.
01-05-2018 08:53 PM. Hi -. I had the same issue. I am a long time Canon user and just purchased the 6D Mark ii at the end of November. I primarily use three lenses and all three had to be micro adjusted - one up to -14 and still wasn't focusing properly. Two of my lenses are Canons. Canon 50mm 1.8. Canon 70-200mm 2.8.
I'm sure it depends on the company's return policy. I explained the situation and they allowed me to return it. I was most definitely grateful! :-)
